Nakerar, which means to do, move, play in Caló, is a visual project that follows the lives of the first generation of young Romani girls playing football in La Mina, a neighborhood on the outskirts of Barcelona. For the first time in history, a Romani women's football team has been federated in Spain, marking a milestone in their community. Through this project, I explore the struggles and challenges these young women face, their expectations, and how football impacts their lives. The report delves into themes of equality, empowerment, and the significance of sport as a tool for transformation. Nakerar is not just about playing: it is about existing, claiming space, and changing the rules of the game.
